ANNUAL GRANTS

Permanent Endowment for Martha's Vineyard & Martha's Vineyard Hospital
Announce Annual Grants

For 63 years, the Mayhew-Nevin Memorial Fund has provided financial support to members of the Vineyard community needing help with their outstanding medical bills. At the end of last year, a grant in the amount of $30,100 was awarded to Martha's Vineyard Hospital that identified 94 qualified beneficiaries for assistance. Individuals and families were selected for this assistance based on need and effort to pay.

Patients experiencing financial hardship, who enter into a payment schedule agreement with the Hospital are eligible to receive a grant from the Mayhew-Nevin Fund that is then applied toward the balance of the patient's bill with the names of all beneficiaries remaining confidential. "Martha's Vineyard Hospital has been honored through the years to work with the Permanent Endowment for MV to improve the lives and good health, of so many Vineyarders," says Tim Walsh, President & CEO of the hospital.

The Mayhew-Nevin Memorial Fund was established in 1945 to honor two distinguished and devoted Vineyard physicians, Orland S. Mayhew and Clement C. Nevin. Since 1986, it has been administered by the Permanent Endowment, the Island's community foundation. Annual grants from the Fund are determined in collaboration with Martha's Vineyard Hospital.

Since 1982, the Permanent Endowment for Martha's Vineyard has put charitable contributions to work for the people of Martha's Vineyard. By making grants, funding scholarships and building an endowment, the Island's community foundation has provided financial resources to help address Island needs.
