Sam R. Telford III, associate professor of biomedical sciences at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is working to help relieve the public health burden posed by outbreaks of infections like Lyme disease and tularemia. By seeking to identify the mode of perpetuation of tick-borne infections like Lyme disease, tularemia, ehrlichiosis, babesiosis and deer tick virus, Telford hopes to discover interventions that may help reduce human risk.
