Martha's Vineyard Hospital's Diagnostic Imaging Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and staffed by radiologists from the Massachusetts General Hospital. Inpatient and outpatient services currently available include:
- 3D Mammograms
- Bone density screenings
- CT Scans
- Echo cardiograms
- General X-rays
Outpatients are pre-registered and may go directly to the department and check in on the day of their appointment. If you are a new patient, please register at the admitting desk in the Emergency Department waiting area before your scheduled screenings. If you do not have a requisition form from your doctor (if it has been sent directly to Imaging) please pick it up at the Imaging Department reception desk before going to register.
A physician referral is required.
Mammography & Breast Health
Martha's Vineyard Hospital's Mammography Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology and offers comprehensive diagnostic and 3D mammography screening services through the Breast Imaging Department of our affiliate, Massachusetts General Hospital where the results are read and evaluated. We also perform diagnostic ultrasound breast exams and biopsies.
Martha's Vineyard Hospital's Surgical Services Department offers consultations with a surgeon who specializes in breast health and needle and surgical biopsy. For more about Martha's Vineyard Hospital Surgical Services click here.
Screening mammograms are offered: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Diagnostic exams are scheduled for Wednesdays when an MGH radiologist is available.
If you are a new patient, please request your last 4 mammograms from your current provider. Your records should be mailed to:
