Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Elects Two New Trustees

At its regular board meeting held on Saturday, May 28, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital elected Michael R. Jaff, D.O. and Debra A. Burke, DNP, MBA, RN to its board of trustees. Ms. Burke is an Associate Chief Nurse for Women and Children’s Services, Mental Health, the Cancer Center and Community Health Nursing practice at Massachusetts General Hospital. Debra holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Northeastern University and a Masters in Business Administration from Salem State University. Previously, Ms. Burke has practiced in many different clinical areas and in a variety of roles; staff nurse, clinical teacher and nurse manager. Debra and her husband Tim have owned their home in Edgartown since 1989. Dr. Michael R. Jaff graduated from Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and a graduate degree in Business and General Management from Harvard Business School. He completed formal residency and fellowship training in Internal Medicine and Vascular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. Along with his practice as the Endowed Chair and Medical Director of the Paul & Phyllis Fireman Vascular Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Jaff is currently interpreting the vascular non-invasive studies at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital and is looking forward to resuming his<a name="_GoBack vascular consultative practice on the Vineyard in the future. Dr. Jaff and his wife Debra have a home in Edgartown. Following the trustees' vote, Tim Sweet, Board Chairman, stated âI'm looking forward to working with both Debra and Michael. Their collective knowledge and wide-range of experiences in the healthcare field will make them invaluable additions to the board. We are fortunate to have them join us and welcome them as new trustees.”
