It is with deep sadness that Martha’s Vineyard Hospital (MVH) announces the passing of beloved physician, Dr. Barbara Krause, MD. She died suddenly yesterday at the age of 64 after returning from Florida where she had been vacationing with family. Dr. Krause has been a member of the MVH Primary Care team since 2016 and will be greatly missed by her colleagues and patients.
“The loss of Dr. Krause is devastating to her devoted staff, fellow colleagues and patients here at MVH. She had a gift of listening and truly being present. Those qualities made her a wonderful physician and friend. My thoughts are with her family as they navigate the challenging road of grief ahead. I hope knowing the positive impact she had on all who knew her will help them at this difficult time,” said Denise Schepici, President & CEO of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
The MVH Primary Care Department is working to re-arrange Dr. Krause’s patients, her colleagues will step in to make sure patients are well cared for. Thank you for your patience as we make immediate adjustments and create a long-term plan for re-assignment.
